COVID-19 Insurance Carrier update 5/13/20

Insurance carriers are working to help those affected by the COVID19 shut down by offering deffered payments, discounts and refunds on premiums.

While we all face the challenges of COVID19 and the shut down, many of our carriers are working to find ways to ease the financial difficulties many are facing.

During this time carriers realize the effect on families. Most of our carriers have been waiving an issuance of cancellations notices and penalties for late payments. If you are struggling with making a payment due to being out of work due to COVID19 and the shut down, it is IMPORTANT that you contact us or the carrier directly. Many carriers are offering deferred payment options to help with those struggling.

You may have also noticed many carriers over the last week are offering discounts or refunds for auto policy holders. If you have not received something directly from your carrier, please do not hesitate to reach out to your account manager here in the office.

Below is an abreviated list of carriers and what they have announced over the last week. We will work to keep you updated and if you have any questions please contact us directly.

GIVE BACK PROGRAM - Arbella’s personal auto customers will receive a credit equal to 20% of their auto premium for three months – April, May, and June 2020. These savings would result in an estimated average of $60 per vehicle, and customers with multiple vehicles on their policy could see significant savings.

PREMIUM DISCOUNT

PREMIUM GIVEBACK - The Hanover will credit 15% auto premiums for April in-force policies in May, and May in-force policies in June

STAYING HOME REFUND - he MAPFRE Insurance Staying Home Refund will credit 15% of premium for two months to all active personal auto policyholders, including motorcycles written on a personal auto policy. The credit will be issued by June 30, and no action is required by policyholders to receive the credit.

PAYMENT EXTENSION / CREDIT FOR AUTO AND COMMERCIAL POLICY

COVID UPDATE - As a reward for helping to keep the communities in which we live and work safe, The N&D Group will be refunding 20% of all Private Passenger Auto premiums from April and May to automobile policyholders.

PERSONAL AUTO RELIEF CREDIT - As part of our commitment to help our customers navigate these difficult times, we have announced a 15% Safety Personal Auto Relief Credit

PREMIUM PAYBACK - Vermont Mutual will provide a equivalent to 20% of a customer's auto premium for 3 months due tro reduced personal lines auto loss frequency resulting from the stay-at-home order.
